In the past few days it seems that justice has failed yet
another soul. Murder was committed to another living breathing soul. He was an
innocent soul who happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Sadly
justice was not served. Sadly that soul was lost on the judge who assisted in
not counting the soul as being worth much. In fact Judge G.W. Paul stated his
total value was $3,200.00 dollars. That innocent soul had no value to the human
race, except his father. Ozzi’s life may not mean much to the Judge, or to the
murderers, but he was worth so much more to his family, and the avian community
who called and screamed out for justice.
Who is Ozzi? Ozzi was a beloved family member; Ozzi was an
African Grey Parrot. Lastly Ozzi was poked with a stick by a 15 year old boy,
until he started bleeding, then he was stabbed with a knife the juvenile borrowed
from one of his friends. The 15 year old received 60 days deferred custody, and
30 days community service. And Even though Judge Paul stated that while the
youth deserves a chance at rehabilitation, he later admits that it is not a “one-off”
issue “Cases also tend to suggest to me that when someone is found guilty of
this type of behavior as a youth, almost invariably it leads to continuing acts
and escalating violence towards people later”.
Yes Judge it does, yet you deferred the sentence, you
allowed him to get off scot free. You allowed him to grow into that escalating
problem. Why because Ozzi was only worth $3,200.00 dollars Ozzi was not human.
Ozzi meant nothing to you, or too the punks you let off the hook. You allowed
the problem to walk out the front door to become someone else’s problem later.
Judge Paul, what will you say to the next victim? What will you do or say later
down the road to the next family of an animal, or the family of the person this
useless garbage murders?
I think it is high time that Judges learn to take some responsibility
for the sentences they hand out knowing what will most likely happen in the
future. Letting Ozzi’s killer off that easy will certainly not give him
anything to think about. You had a real chance at making a difference, but all
you did was fail the boy, his friends, but mostly Ozzi. You allowed the abuse
to continue, for another animal, or his human victim.
Judge G.W.Paul, you are a disgrace to the bench, and the
robe. Any other judge that allows the
continued neglect, abuse and murder of any other animal is as guilty of murder,
abuse and neglect that comes down the pike.
Ozzi, I am Sorry that you had to die the way you
did, but there are those of us you thought you to be invaluable. Your light will continue to shine, and we
will continue to be your voice.
